Greetings!
We are heading into college application and acceptance season, so our theme this month is student loans. I often talk about how parents should not take on student loans for their kids, so please feel free to reach out to me if you have kids going off to college and you are thinking about taking on student loans for them. If you have already taken on student loans for yourself or your kids, you may be looking for options to deal with them.
This month’s featured blog post talks about a new guide put out by Consumers Advocate on refinancing student loans. Check it out below and remember that there are pros and cons with refinancing student loans.
Sticking with the student loan topic, the NY Times had an interesting article about repayment options and how servicers are not really telling borrowers about plans that are available to them. Very important to know your rights and options. The article is linked below for your review.
Finally, our featured video this month talks about the next financial crisis, which is the parent student loans that are really weighing down a generation trying to take care of aging parents and pay their kids’ student loans at the same time.
Thank you for reading and please feel free to forward our newsletter to any friends, colleagues, or family members who may be interested in learning more about debt, credit, and solutions to financial stress.
