June Cougar Chronicle
Dear Parents and Families,
Wow, what a year! To better state that- a year we will never forget! Each of your children has brought such joy and happiness to Corpus Christi School. I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of children. They all have touched my life in very positive and rewarding ways. Even though we have been apart for several months, I still feel very connected to your children. From the great videos that you sent me for Principal Appreciation, FACEBOOK posts, personal emails, Reverse Parade, and of course our weekly Storytime we have definitely stayed in touch.

It has been my pleasure to continue getting to know not only your child, but you as well. Having parental support and open lines of communication is an essential part of any successful school year. Thank you for all you have done to make our year so fulfilling and memorable.

As your child anticipates the long summer vacation, there are some very important ideas you can do to help them succeed. Engage in meaningful conversations with your child every day. Take time, if only a few minutes a day, to really listen to what they have to say. Read to and listen to your child read. Ask questions, make predictions, and make life to text connections as you read. Practice those addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. Help your child develop a sense of working and solving problems independently. Talk about ways and start practicing getting and staying organized. Encourage your child to write often! Writing stories, letters, journal entries, etc. are great ways to get thoughts organized and put onto paper. These small details will lead to big successes next year.

Also, remember our commitment to God. In addition, begin and end each day with a prayer of gratitude; thank God for the good things that happen to you and to others.

Again, thank you for a wonderful year. Have a fantastic and sunny summer.
Enjoy . . . Peace,

Mrs. Ann T. Sarpu

Please stay in touch. I would love to see summer pics of everyone having fun!!

FALL 2020

I know everyone is anxious about how school will look come August. To be brutally honest, no one really knows. That said, please be assured that I am currently engaged in many conversations and discussions with the Archdiocese and the Town of Wethersfield. Various ideas have been floated around, however, one specific plan has not yet been agreed upon. Furthermore, I have had numerous conversations with Mrs. Cowan, our school nurse, with regards to our students’ health. Once a definitive plan is laid out I will be in contact with you immediately.

My plan for the beginning of the school year is as follows:
September 1                    First Day of School/Early Dismissal
              September 2 & 3             Regular School Days
              September 4                    No School
              September 7                    Labor Day/No School

As for the rest of the 2020-2021 academic calendar, I will get that to you as soon as the picture for Fall 2020 is clearer. In addition, your child’s supply list will be forthcoming over the summer.

I thank you for your patience. As you have become accustomed to, I take the health and safety of your children very seriously. I want only the best for them and would never put their health in jeopardy.
