It's Time for Tea!
Women United's Power of the Purse event Coming Sept. 9
We are looking forward to Women United's annual Power of the Purse event! This year's Power of the Purse will be an Afternoon Tea and Silent Auction at The Classic Center starting at 4 p.m. Benefitting the Clarke and Oconee County programs of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, this event will include a parent of children who have received books from the program, a featured speaker and our silent auction with new purses, jewelry, and baskets of local business gift cards and items. Register today to join us! If you are a local business, consider donating an item for the auction or sponsoring today. Reach out to Alison Alwes with any questions.
Dolly's on the Move
As you may have seen, the Clarke and Oconee County Dolly Parton's Imagination Library programs are moving to new homes!
"We are thankful for the volunteers who have made this program what it is, and we will continue to be big supporters and advocates for this program."
- Kay Keller
President & CEO,
United Way of Northeast Georgia
Every month, children in Clarke and Oconee counties receive free books courtesy of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. United Way of Northeast Georgia has been proud to be a part of these programs, hosting them in-house for the past 9 years. These programs are assets to their county's children and we are excited to announce the transition of them to county-specific organizations.

By the end of 2021, the Oconee County program will become a program of Oconee Area Resource Council and the Clarke County program will become a program of Books for Keeps. Both of these nonprofits are wholly focused on the local children in their county and providing them access to resources that help them grow. United Way of Northeast Georgia will financially support the programs through the end of 2021 and beginning of 2022 to ensure the programs continue and thrive, so that there is no disruption of book delivery for the children.

United Way of Northeast Georgia is so proud of these programs and the impact they have on our youngest neighbors. Throughout the last nine years, more than 11,000 children in Clarke and Oconee County have received some 300,000 books and we cannot wait to see how many more children receive books in the future.

Join us in celebrating this transition and support Dolly Parton's Imagination Library through your dollars and registrations.
