Join us this International Women's Day
We're counting down the days until our 20th annual International Women's Day Celebration and Potluck. March 8 is a day to recognize women's achievements, and acknowledge the challenges women continue to face as they work for gender equality. Join us on March 8 from 5:30 - 8:00 pm for a relaxed evening of community and connection. We'll celebrate with door prizes, speeches, and a potluck dinner.
We invite guests to bring a potluck dish to share if they are able. This event is open to all ages and genders, bring a friend or just bring yourself. Doors open at 5:30 pm, event programming begins at 6:00 pm. Let us know if you can make it!

has partnered with Boomerang Bags YYC to host an extra special meetup.
Join us on March 6th for a Produce Bag Making Party! At this meetup, participants will work together to make re-useable produce bags using recycled materials as a means to replace plastic bags. This event is by donation, click here for details.

This IWD, Support our Personal Care Program

Through our Personal Care Program, any woman in Calgary is able to access personal care items on a monthly basis. Items many of us take for granted, like shampoo, conditioner, pads, tampons, and other hygiene items, can be difficult or impossible to afford for women who are struggling to make ends meet. Items that were once basic necessities can become occasional luxuries for women experiencing poverty, which is why we work to ensure these items are available for any woman in need.
Our Personal Care Program is made possible through donations from community members like you, and this IWD we're asking for your help! Consider picking up some personal care items and dropping them off at the Women's Centre, or
making a donation online.
Host
a Personal Care item "thing raiser," at your own IWD event or social gathering, or share why you choose to support the Personal Care Program with your network online, and in real life!

Volunteer for our Girl Force Spring Break Camps!

Do you love listening to and learning from the experiences of girls?
We are currently looking for volunteers for our Spring Break Leadership Camp, March 25-29 2019! Our camp is for girls in grades 5 to 9 to develop their leadership and activism skills, build community, and have fun. Click here for more information or to apply.
Volunteers play an essential role in supporting girls to develop their skills and explore issues important to them. Volunteers prepare for camp sessions, and spend time with girls throughout the day. Volunteers also support the program by setting up and cleaning up snacks, lunch, crafts, and activities.

This training is open to anyone interested in improving their facilitation skills. Learn how to plan your own workshop and gain effective facilitation tools and techniques for creating an engaging workshop for participants.
Women and Poverty | MONDAY - MARCH 25 (6:00-8:00 PM)
Learn about women's poverty in Calgary and Alberta, and the various ways poverty shows up at the Women's Centre. Discover how the Women's Centre addresses poverty.
