Fred Markert, who helped lead the Praying Through The Window prayer movement alongside Peter and Doris Wagner and Beverly Pegues, is starting a new YWAM Base in Birmingham, AL. YWAM Birmingham is partnering with Church Of The Highlands, with churches in the ARC Network, and with other churches and Christian networks to extend the Kingdom of God in the USA and in the 10/40 Window where 3.1 billion Unreached Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists live.
The new YWAM Birmingham Base is recruiting new staff who will help to accomplish its three significant assignments from the Lord:
First, YWAM Birmingham is spearheading a collaborative initiative to ignite an Awakening & Restoration Revival in America to stop its rapidly accelerating moral and societal decline and its eventual civilizational collapse. Presently, 64 international ministries and local church networks have agreed to work together in this Awakening & Restoration Revival Initiative. Currently, the Leadership Team is comprised of Fred Markert (YWAM NSI and YWAM Birmingham), Dutch Sheets (DSM Ministries), Lou Engle (The Call/The Send), Dick Eastman (Every Home For Christ), Mike Bickle (International House Of Prayer), and Chris Hodges (Pastor of Church Of The Highlands the second largest church in America). YWAM NSI is recruiting new staff who desire to work alongside the Awakening & Restoration Revival Leadership Team to serve this new movement to usher in revival.
Second, the focus of YWAM Birmingham is recruiting, training, logistically supporting and sending new church planting teams to the 3.1 billion Unreached Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist people in the 10/40 Window. 2 billion of these Unreached People have never heard the name of Jesus Christ even one time! YWAM Birmingham is also committed to church planting and helping to provide Oral Translations of the Bible for the approximately 1,700 languages that have no portion of the Bible whatsoever. YWAM Birmingham needs new staff who desire to work here on the home front mobilizing the church, recruiting, training, sending, and logistically supporting new missionaries, and they need new staff who want to be trained to go to the field in the 10/40 Window as part of a church planting team.
Third, YWAM Birmingham is called to provide a Gap Year program for High School graduates before they go to university or the job marketplace. Currently, the Church in America loses 60% of its young people who leave the Church by age 22, never to return. The two issues driving them to lose their faith is a lack of personal discipleship which has not produced strong character development in them and the lack of a Biblical Worldview. The Gap Year program enhances their relationship with the Lord, develops strong character in them, and empowers them with a Biblical Worldview.
People of all ages and with all skills - or no skills, but who are willing to be trained - are invited to come and join this new YWAM Birmingham, AL Base.
A YWAM Discipleship Training School is required. The next YWAM Birmingham DTS starts in on August 13th, hosted by Church Of The Highlands in their facilities.
YWAM Birmingham understands this is a very short time to decide to attend a DTS for most people, but they are looking for people like Simon, Andrew, James, John, and Levi in Mark 1 and 2 who instantly dropped what they were doing (leaving their family and careers in fishing and tax collecting) and immediately followed Jesus. These are the kinds of people who God uses to start movements that shake the world!
The DTS, which starts on August 13th, is also part of a Gap Year program that prepares young Christians to be successful in college and university, or in the marketplace in a job. We may be able to work with people who are interested in coming a few days later since the first week is Orientation Week - which will be remediated with extra catch-up sessions.
The time is short. The laborers are few. The work is hard. The rewards are eternal!
