UNITED AGAINST HATE WEEK //
LA SEMANA UNIDOS CONTRA EL ODIO
|
|
It’s United Against Hate Week (Nov. 14-20, 2021), a nationwide call to stop the hate and implicit biases that are a dangerous threat to the safety and civility of our communities. Redwood City stands united against hate, and we hope you will too. As a symbol of your solidarity, consider displaying a United Against Hate Week sign, available for pickup at all Redwood City Public Library locations. You can also download and print here.
On Sunday, we kicked off the week with our Teddy Bear Tea at the Downtown Library. Over 200 kids and adults from Redwood City and North Fair Oaks joined us on the Library plaza. It was an afternoon of community fellowship and teddy bear making, and we all had so much fun! Stay tuned for the next installment of this event series, our Teddy Bear Sleepover, coming in January.
You can also join us for one or more events:
WED NOV 17, 5pm
This workshop will provide the opportunity to learn what microaggressions are and techniques for interrupting microaggressions in the moment.
FRI NOV 19, 5pm
This virtual gathering is an opportunity to hold space for community mourning, reflection and healing for the transgender lives we have lost in the US to murder.
