Wellness Tips
by Luna Kim, '20, HAWP Intern
In honor of Wellness Week and the upcoming season of "Midterm Madness," here are a few tips to help maintain and improve your well-being!
- Practice good time management: Use a calendar to plan out your weekly schedule. Be sure to reserve time for meals, errands, and exercises, as well as personal enrichment, fun, and friends.
- Prioritize sleep: Try to aim for 7-9 hours of sleep a night, and if that feels unrealistic, try to get 6. Sleeping well gives you the energy and capacity to better manage stress.
- Move your body: Exercise has incredible benefits for your physical and emotional well-being. From walking up Rabb steps to trying an intramural club sport, there are many ways to get active. There’s no reason physical activity can't be fun!
- Fuel your body: Don’t forget to eat! Make time in your daily schedule for meals, and try to aim for a colorful plate (a meal with different colored fruits and/or vegetables will have more nutrients). Being too strict about your diet can be counterproductive. Remember—moderation is key.
- Don’t be afraid to reach out! Brandeis offers a large range of services to support you physically, emotionally, socially, etc.
