let's talk pelvic pain
did you know PT can treat that?
As women we often spend so much of our time helping others. To nurture, is something so ingrained in us that sometimes we forget to take time for ourselves. We have to remember we need nurturing too. I have suffered from coccyx pain, back pain, hip pain, and headaches never knowing exactly what was wrong with me. It wasn’t until I was introduced to physical therapy, that I found out all my issues were connected. Now, I am by no means an expert on anything medical but I know physical therapy has not only relieved my pain but restored my hope and optimism.

It seems like the discussion of pelvic floor dysfunction is becoming more prevalent. Because of my own experiences, I decided to do a little more research on the subject and here’s what I discovered…

we started a podcast

This month we're releasing two episodes in honor of May being Women's Health Month and also Pelvic Pain Awareness Month! The first episode is already out and you can hear from our marketing chicks as they shed light on all things women's health with their guest- Michelle Nesin! As women, we tend to take our health seriously. We take care to have our yearly gynecological visits. We slather on the SPF 30 to protect our skin. We eat nourishing, balanced meals to fuel our daily responsibilities. And when the time comes, we make sure to have our mammograms.

The concept of “health” is a total package—one that extends to the entire body. So, if you’re experiencing urinary incontinence or pain during sex, an element of health is being impacted by the body, specifically the pelvic floor.

“Women write off so much of the pelvic floor issues they’re experiencing as ‘normal,’” says Nesin Physical Therapist Amanda Spalding, PT, DPT, OCS, COMT. “The reality is that if you are peeing when you laugh, sneeze, cough, or while running/jumping or you have any pain during intercourse at any point during your lifespan (even after having a baby), that’s not normal.”
