Second Firefighter Crew Sent to Interior BC

Parksville Fire Rescue recently sent another four firefighters to assist with wildfire support, after the first crew completed eight days in the Summerland area. Thank you to the entire crew for making it possible to support other communities in need!

That's a Wrap for Parksville Beach Festival!

The 2026 summer season was another remarkable success, with 119,480 visitors experiencing the Quality Foods Sand Sculpting Exhibition and 95,367 People’s Choice votes cast to select this year’s favourite sculptures.

The Parksville Community Park was alive with activity all summer, hosting popular events including April Wine, the Tim Hortons Summer Concert Series, Buskers, Sand & Sounds, and Beachfest ROCKS! Beyond attracting visitors and creating memorable experiences, the festival continues its long-standing commitment to the community, with 2026 gate proceeds supporting 24 local not-for-profit organizations and community initiatives. Since 1999, the Society has contributed more than $1.2 million back to the community.

Thank you to the Parksville Beach Festival Society for putting on another exciting series of events and activities for the community!

Sports Fields to Receive Broadleaf Weed Treatment

The sports fields at Parksville Community Park and Springwood Park will be treated for broadleaf weeds, with Springwood Park being treated on August 31, and Parksville Community Park being completed from September 8-11.

Springwood Tennis Courts Ready for Play

The City has completed repairs and resurfacing on all six courts at Springwood Park. All courts also have new nets and posts, making the games that much more enjoyable. Courts can be booked through the Regional District of Nanaimo: rdn.bc.ca/courts.

Fall Grant-in-aid Program
