GNJMA Requests Legislator Meetings and Pens Letter to School Superintendents |
|

It is important to us to keep our relationships up-to-date with our legislators who make critical decisions on our behalf. GNJMA recently requested meetings with Senator Diegnan, Assemblywoman Pinto-Marin and Assemblyman Benson. We have heard back from Senator Diegnan's office that he is amicable to meeting with us and are awaiting responses from the other two. We will keep you updated. Read the letter.

GNJMA sent a letter to NJ School Superintendents on August 15th regarding school trips booked through bus brokers. We hope that by providing them with this information, it raises awareness and and we can make progress toward avoiding future cancelled trips and disappointing any more students. Read the letter.

Our Toast to Tommy will give honor to our friend and a founding member, Tom Dugan. Tom passed earlier this year in an untimely and tragic fall. We miss him dearly. We will update you on other plans to honor Tom at our upcoming Annual Meeting.

Chris Rotondo, FMCSA NJ Division Administrator, advised that this is a handbook of sorts, to help the industry with FAQ's, and other common issues, medical questions and concerns over the years. It will allow the industry to see that others had or have similar issues and this was the answer from either FMCSA or OST. Chris recommends contacting the FMCSA or state (depending on the situation) if you have any real issues or regulatory concerns.
