Every December, human trafficking advocates from all over the world pledge to wear a dress or tie for 31 days of Dressember. “We were so proud to support Busing on the Lookout and show our commitment to combating human trafficking through participating in the 2020 Dressember campaign, in addition to training all of Panorama Tours' drivers on how to recognize and report signs of trafficking. The Dressember campaign was a fun way to raise awareness and reminded us daily that we each have an important role to play,” said Michelle Petelicki, GNJMA Board Secretary and President of Panorama Tours.

Assemblyman Dan Benson Assists Industry on Bill |

Assemblyman Benson spoke at our October Annual Meeting, and is continuing to always look out for our industry. On 11/16/21, Assemblyman Benson sponsored a bill "Motorbus and Passenger Rail Service Employee Violence Prevention Act". This bill helps to prevent violence against our employees. Through the collaboration of our (GNJMA's) Legislative Committee and Assemblyman Benson's office, we were able to make sure that the bill was written in a way that supported our industry's safety without impeding on the private operators' ability to do business and/or incur additional operating expenses. Reminder About the Toll Increases Set To Take Effect Jan. 1 |

The scheduled increases are as follows:
- A toll increase of $3 per bus, effective in January 2022;
- Based on an automatic inflation increase, a $0.25 AirTrain fare increase, also effective January 2022.
On November 18, 2021, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey released for public review and comment the agency’s proposed $7.9 billion 2022 budget, which consists of $3.4 billion for operating expenses, $2.7 billion for annual capital spending, and $1.8 billion for debt service and deferred expenses.
You may recall, we fought this back when introduced in 2019/2020, and specifically asked for an exemption. On December 7th, we again submitted public comments on behalf of our members. You can read them read here.
