Spring school trips never materialized, summer camps aren’t planning big outings and cruise ships, whose passengers in autumn help round out the year, aren’t scheduling stops. App. Div. 2021) which is likely to have far-reaching evidentiary implications in future commercial motor vehicle accident lawsuits in New Jersey.

IMPORTANT UPDATE! GNJMA Membership Renewal + Refer-A-Friend Promotion

On June 24th, GNJMA President, Tim Stout sent an important update to the June 16th communication about the September 1st GNJMA Membership renewal.
During our June Board of Director's meeting, the Board decided to move our fiscal year and synch our membership year to that date.
Therefore, when you renew this September, your membership will be good until 12/31/22. That's 16 months of membership for the annual price. Add this to the free membership year for the current term, that equates to a huge value.

On May 6th, a coalition of state and regional motorcoach association sent a letter to Secretary Pete Buttigieg voicing our concerns for the Union Station Redevelopment Project at Union Station, Washington, D.C. The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) responded favorably via a return letter.

On June 21st, GNJMA sent a letter to Senator Joseph Lagana and Congressman Josh Gottheimer regarding the Congestion Toll for NJ from NY.

Due to COVID, GNJMA planned the board-hosted Annual Sponsor Appreciation Dinner for a different time and place, in June on a boat. This normally is held at our Spring Association Meeting. A great time was had by all.

The Department of Treasury has opened the application portal for the CERTS program. Motorcoach operators interested in applying for a CERTS grant should review the following documents.
The CERTS portal will be open for applications through July 19, 2021. To be considered for a CERTS grant, an application must be completed, electronically signed, and submitted through the portal by 11:59 PM ET on July 19. After the deadline, the portal will not accept new applications, and users will not be able to finish draft applications in the portal.
Accessing the CERTS Portal: To gain access to the CERTS portal and submit an application, a company representative must first register with a username and password through the ID.me identity service.

During Operation Safe Driver Week, law enforcement personnel will be on the lookout for commercial motor vehicle drivers and passenger vehicle drivers engaging in risky driving behaviors in or around a commercial motor vehicle.
