Hello Milagro Mentors! Spring has just sprung and everything is blooming at Milagro Center, especially our students, with special thanks to our Mentors!

Our annual Mentor Appreciation event earlier this month was fun for all! Thank you to all who were able to attend. We served delicious food from our friends at Santana’s Latin Kitchen and Baba’s pierogies and our Mentors enjoyed meeting and mingling with each other; getting to know them and hearing their inspiring stories about their Mentees. It’s heartwarming to see so many people who are committed to enriching the lives of our Milagro Center children and youth.

Just a reminder that if you have not been featured in the monthly Mentor Spotlight in our Mentor newsletter, please make sure I get your photo taken with your Mentee so we can celebrate YOU. I am looking for candidates for April so let’s put you and your Mentee in the spotlight!

Spring Break camp is in full swing now through Monday March 31st. Please remember that some of our students do not attend camp every day. Please check with us before you head over. Also check other “Important Dates to Remember” below.

FEBRUARY 2025 MENTOR Spotlight!!!

Even though Anaiyah and I have only recently met each other, I know that she shares my excitement when we see each other by her enthusiasm and smiles. We both enjoy playing and reading together, and I am amazed by her curiosity, as well as her athletic and puzzle-solving abilities. I look forward to spending time with Anaiyah each week and appreciate the opportunities that the Milagro Center provides in their extremely well-organized program.

Lower high school dropout rates
Healthier relationships and lifestyle choices
Better attitude about school
Higher college enrollment rates and higher educational aspirations
Enhanced self-esteem and self-confidence

Stronger relationships with parents, teachers, and peers
Improved interpersonal skills
Decreased likelihood of initiating drug and alcohol use

Children need to learn proper communication and social skills to interact with others and be accepted into a group. Milagro's teachers integrate “Social Emotional Learning” (SEL) into our daily sessions.
