A Night With Our Sponsors and Donors
|
|
We finished off an exciting and busy 2020 with our sponsors. Every time someone donates their time and/or resources to our organization they are making a contribution directly towards one of our clients. Each donation helps to create independence and freedom. Whether you are contributing by donating a product for one of our fundraising events, volunteering at an event, or financially supporting our organization, you are making an impact.
Neuro Assistance Foundation serves the Spinal Cord community by providing minor modifications to the home or vehicle, financial assistance towards rehabilitative services, and providing much needed durable medical equipment. These are basic needs for individuals living with Spinal Cord injuries or disabilities and creates a safe environment that we hope deters future hospital stays!
Are you a stakeholder in a large corporation and looking for a cause worth supporting in 2021? Perhaps you are a busy parent looking for an organization you and your children can support together. Maybe you are a working professional with a love for jogging? I urge you to consider Neuro Assistance Foundation as an organization worth supporting in the coming year.

At this time of the year we like to take a look back to see who we helped this year. Take a look!
161 clients from DFW and Houston
Our youngest clients were two-year-olds - we actually had 3 two-year-old clients: McKenna, Savanah & Gilma. All girls have spina bifida. Wheelchair, rent & catheters were provided.
Our oldest client was 76 year-old Steven, who received a shower chair system after a fall at home leaving him a paraplegic.
Motor vehicle accidents continue to be the leading cause of paralysis for our clients with over 50% of our clients having been in some type of accident with a car, truck, motorcycle or ATV.
Mobility equipment continues to be the most requested form of assistance and saw a 43% increase over 2019. This category includes wheelchairs, repairs on chairs, hospital beds, complex shower chairs and lifts.

In 2021 I plan to go scuba diving, learn something new, and actually use the gym I am a member of.... (I like to keep these a bit broad!)

Huge THANKS to these organizations for the generous 4th Quarter grants provided to help NAF's kids. Your funding helps our kids remain independent and healthy! Together we can change lives.

NAF provided McKenna (Age 2) with a wheelchair and some ramps for her home. We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to help children like McKenna in our community!
Providing independence and mobility to our kids is our mission and McKenna fills our hearts with joy!

This little angel, Savannah (Age 2) just had spinal surgery at Cook Children's Hospital. Her family needed help with some expenses and her case manager reached out to us to help. We never want parents worrying about bills while they have a child in the hospital. We were happy to take a little pressure off her father.
Savannah is pictured with her brother, Jovanni, age 4, at their baptism. Welcome to our NAF family!
Savannah's bio sent by her father:
Savannah was born 7 weeks early. She spent the first 90 days in the NICU at Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene. During her time in the NICU, they found she has a VSD in her heart as well as congenital scoliosis. We were referred to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas where an MRI was performed and found that she had a tethered spinal cord that required immediate surgery to give her the possibility of being able to crawl and walk. The surgery at Cook Children's went well and now we just wait and pray that all goes well.

Joe, age 28, was injured last year and is living with a spinal cord injury. He wanted to get back to driving so NAF jumped in and helped get new hand controls installed in his vehicle. His smile says it all! Independence feels great!

The foundation has helped so many people of all ages and I am so grateful to be able to be a part of it!”

THANK YOU To Our Sponsors!

We Need Your Help
Donate ~ Sponsor ~ Volunteer
|
|
Your $25 donation will help provide clean catheters to a paralyzed child for one month when their insurance won't cover the expense.
Your $100 donation will help build a wheelchair ramp so we can get our clients out of rehab and through their front door at home.
Your $200 donation will help widen the doorways in their homes so their wheelchair can fit through the bathroom door. Insurance doesn't covers home modifications.
Your $500 donation will help provide life-changing medical equipment: wheelchairs and specialized shower chairs, etc. Most insurance only covers a small part of wheelchairs, if any, and no "bathing aids" are covered.
No donation is too small. Click here for more information!
