Now that's a reason to celebrate!
You're invited to the DRTx ADA 25th Birthday Family Fun Fest
Monday, March 2, 2015
3:30 - 5:30 pm
at 2222 West Braker Lane, Austin
(offices of Disability Rights Texas)
Join Disability Rights Texas (DRTx) as we commemorate the anniversary of one of the most important civil rights events in our nation's history - the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.
Help us celebrate by bringing the whole family for this FREE community event with food, live music, face painting, A SMALL ANIMAL PETTING ZOO, carnival games, and other fun!
Many Texans played a key role in the passage of the law, including George H.W. Bush who signed it, the late Justin Dart who had the vision, and Lex Frieden, who was the chief author. With so many Texas ties to the ADA, that's some real cause for some festivity in the capital city!
We'll also welcome the arrival of the famous ADA Road to Freedom Legacy Bus that has been touring the nation. This rolling museum provides an opportunity to learn more about the history of the ADA and a place to show your support along with thousands of other Americans by signing the ADA banner and quilt.
RSVP at tinyurl.com/DRTxADA or call (512) 454-4816.
