Everything Evergreen

Hello there

Summer 2025 has been one for the books! Evergreen Heritage Center Foundation has hosted numerous camps, events, and programs.

In June, we participated in Mountain Maryland Museum Week by hosting a series of workshops and opening our museums daily. We also held two weeks of Young Naturalist Camp for children in grades 1-3.

In July, we hosted participants from Catholic Heart Work Camp and CareFirst employees to volunteer on the property. We also held two weeks of Sizzle & Stir Cooking Camp for children in grades 3-5. We also hosted Lighthouse Christian Daycare and Garrett County Health Department's Summer Program students for half-day programs. And finally, we hosted a Gemstone Tree Workshop for adults.

All in all, it has been a very busy and engaging summer for Evergreen!

The More You Know!

Did you know Evergreen has forest inventory plots across our campus? These sites can be used to monitor forest health. The initial set-up might be a little tedious, but the information you gain is invaluable–and the best part is you could do it on your own land too!
