MAA Hosting Program

For the past several weeks, we have had the pleasure of getting to know our host kids! Nineteen incredible children from Colombia were here with our amazing host families from July 22 until August 7th. The kids enjoyed picnics, a wildlife refuge, focus groups, and other fun activities as part of their stay!
Sadly, all good things must come to an end and we had to say goodbye on August 7 th . Over the course of the next couple of weeks, we will share with you the joyous news that several of these children have families racing to get back to them. And we will also share with you about the children who we are still searching for families for. But now, thanks to hosting, we don’t have to rely on a couple pictures and words on paper to advocate. Now, we can tell you about who these children truly are.
Brittany’s Hope Walk of Love

We are busy training for the Brittany’s Hope Walk of Love , which is quickly approaching on September 14! We hope to see some of you there running and walking along with us to help fulfill Brittany’s dream ‘of a world where all children know the peace and love only a family can provide.’  Read more about Brittany’s Hope , and the impact this amazing organization has had on children. And if you can’t make it on Race Day, please consider sponsoring MAA! ALL donations will go towards adoption grants for MAA families!!
ICAB Board Members visit MAA!

On July 18 th , MAA had the pleasure of sharing our day with two Board members from ICAB, which is the Central Authority of the Philippines. MAA started the Philippines reaccreditation process in early 2019 by submitting required documents including licenses, audits, inspections, information packets, etc. This reaccreditation occurs every three years. On July 18 th , two ICAB officials met interviewed our staff, as well as discussed pertinent issues, and answered many of our questions about the Philippines program. We asked a lot of questions, but also gave a lot of feedback and engaged in open and honest dialogue on how we believe the program can grow and help more children!  We also had two families join our staff for a delicious and fun luncheon! Overall, it was a very enjoyable day and we learned a lot from our discussions that will hopefully guide us as we continue to grow this program.
These families came home in July!
