A BIG THANK YOU to PUBLIX -

Feed the Need of Putnam County has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Publix Charities. This generous support will help supplement the organization’s Weekend Food Program, which provides essential nutrition to more than 800 food-insecure students each week. The program bridges the weekend gap by supplying students with easy-to-prepare, nutritious food so they have meals even when school is not in session.

“We are incredibly grateful for Publix Charities’ investment in the children of Putnam County,” said Feed the Need. “Their support helps us continue our mission of fighting child hunger.”

If you would like to volunteer or donate, please visit feedtheneedofputnam.org or email feedtheneedputnam@yahoo.com. Donation checks may be mailed to: Feed the Need of Putnam County, P.O. Box 1321, Palatka, FL 32178.

700 Block Food Drive

What an amazing collaborative effort from the 700 Block Food Drive this November!

We are so grateful for the incredible participating drop-off locations: Azalea City Brewing Co., Petey’s Beer & Wine Garden, Magnolia Cafe, Atmosphere Boutique, Brownies Boots, Brownies Outpost, Lemon Street Mercantile, and the Pain Relief Centre.

Together, you collected an incredible amount of non-perishable food that will go home with local children in need—helping keep them nourished over the weekends when school meals aren’t available.

A huge thank-you to the businesses that participated, and a special shout-out to Abed at Azalea City Brewing Company for pulling it all together! Thank you also to Abed and Carlie for helping load everything into the truck so we could get it safely back to the Feed the Need warehouse.

Community coming together like this is how real change happens.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Last night we celebrated the incredible volunteers of Feed the Need of Putnam County with a special dinner and White Elephant gift exchange at Corky Bell’s. We are so thankful for each person who gives their time and talents to support our mission and the children we serve.

A big thank-you to Carlene Emery for organizing the evening and creating such a festive, welcoming atmosphere. A special moment of the night was a surprise for Denise Bramlitt, who was honored with a handcrafted knife made by Mike Stallings, featuring fossils from the St. Johns River, in recognition of her leadership and dedication to Feed the Need and our kids.

Viking Service Day

Royce spent the better part of the St. Johns River State College Service Day pressure-washing the roll-up doors at the Feed the Need building! 💪✨

Thank you to St. Johns River State College for including us in your Service Day—and a special shout-out to Royce for your hard work and dedication. We appreciate you helping our building look its best! 🙌💙

CITY OF PALATKA 5K DONATION -

Marcia Carty, Palatka City Manager, and Virginia Jones, City Human Resource Manager, on behalf of the City Commissioners, presented Feed the Need of Putnam County with a generous $5,000 donation. After being invited to share our mission at the City Commission Budget Workshop, we never expected such an extraordinary blessing to follow—and our hearts are truly full.

This gift will allow us to purchase jelly for extended school breaks and provide additional healthy food items to send home in the backpacks of children who depend on this support. For many of our kids, these bags mean comfort, dignity, and the assurance that they won’t go hungry.

Thank you to the City of Palatka and the Commissioners for believing in our mission and standing with us in the fight against child hunger. Your support means more than words can express, and we are deeply, deeply grateful.
