Happy Halloween from BRADD!

BRADD Staff recently gathered for a staff meeting on Halloween and took the opportunity to pose for a group photo.

BRADD recently hosted Director Lael Brainard of the National Economic Council for a roundtable. Dr. Brainard was in Bowling Green to keynote the KY Association of Manufacturers Conference. The roundtable consisted of leaders from Warren County & Bowling Green local governments, Small Business Development, BG Chamber of Commerce, Warren RECC, KY Department of Oil & Gas, USDA, Ohio River Valley Institute, Pennyrile ADD and BRADD, along with staff from the White House.

BRADD Employee Spotlight

Congrats to Kim Morrow, BRADD's GIS Manager, on receiving the 2023 Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals (KAMP) Service to the GIS/Mapping Community Award for her contribution to the statewide NG-911 workgroup. As the daughter of a fire fighter, Kim has a deeply rooted passion for assisting the emergency services community and is profoundly honored to receive this award.

The BRADD Board of Directors met on October 30, 2023 for their monthly board meeting.

The board was joined by Representatives Jason Petrie and Brandon Reed, who gave a presentation of House Bill 9 Government Resources Accelerating Needed Transformation (G.R.A.N.T.) Program.

Additionally, the Board recognized Katie White and Sharon Woods for their 1 year anniversary, and Emily Hathcock for her 5 year anniversary.

The next BRADD Board of Directors meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 13 at BRADD Conference Center. Lunch will be served at noon and board meeting will follow at 1 pm. There will be no November Board Meeting due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Senior Food Drive Competition

On November 1, BRADD staff joined Independence bank of Russellville, Logan County High School students, Russellville High School students, and their administrators at the local Priceless IGA for a friendly competition among the two schools to fill grocery carts full of nonperishable food items for the BRADD senior food drive.  The students filled 9 grocery carts full of food. Many thanks to Independence Bank of Russellville for sponsoring the event, IGA for allowing the competition during business hours, and both schools for participating in the competition. Later in the month, these foods will be bagged and delivered in Logan County to BRADD’s neediest clients.

BRADD's Community & Economic Development Department is currently administering 64 projects that represent an investment of $50,290,701.86.

Regional Open Data Portal

By: Kim Morrow, GIS Manager

November 15, 2023 marks GIS Day. In celebration of this day, our GIS Department works hard to maintain BRADD's regional open data portal.

The regional open data portal is where you can find easy-to-use mapping applications or data to create your own maps. There is information available for numerous categories, including transportation, demographics, and utilities. This site is updated frequently by the department, so check back often for new content.

As always, if you cannot find a map or application that fits your needs, contact BRADD's GIS Manager, Kim Morrow, for assistance. Click the image below to go to the Regional Open Data Portal.
