Hello Summer.jpg

Happy Summer! After a long Winter and a short Spring, we are excited to dive into the hot weather.

Over 15 years ago, a Waunakee mom pulled together clothing and household items from her friends and neighbors to help two other moms from her children's school get settled in apartments as they were restarting their lives. What began as a small act of neighborly support is now Waunakee Neighborhood Connection and we are now serving more than 300 households through our Community Store and other programs.

Community Store News for June & July

We are open for client shopping Mondays and Fridays from 9:30 AM-4:00 PM, Wednesdays from 9:30 AM-7:00 PM, and the fourth Saturday of the month from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM (June 25th and July 23rd). Please be sure to make an appointment before you come. Please make an appointment online, use the “Client Shopping Appointments” link on our website, or call us at (608)849-5740.

This Month in the Corner Store

The special this month for the Corner Store is Summer fun items such as sunscreen as well as cleaning supplies. Based on quantities available, items will be distributed on a limited basis. There will also be some fun gifts for Dad to celebrate Father’s Day.

Due to the increase in families we are serving, monthly supply items in the Corner Store such as paper products, cleaning supplies, and toiletries sometimes are unavailable. We will let you know when we are out of these items by placing a sign on the shelf in the Corner Store. Please know that we are working hard with our donation drive team to replenish these items and hope to do so as soon as possible. In the meantime, if there is something you really need and do not find it on the Corner Store shelves, please let us know.Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!

Diapers and Pull-Ups Available Every Month

Through our partnership with the Village Diaper Bank in Madison, we provide 100 diapers and a package of wipes for every child that needs them. If you need diapers but have not yet registered to receive them, please contact Helyn via email, text, or phone at (608)849-5740 to get on the list and start receiving them.

Thanks to donations from the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County and Waunakee Remodeling, we have N95 face masks and COVID-19 home test kits available. If you need either or both of these, simply ask at the Welcome Desk the next time you come in.
