October-November 2019
Welcome to SBG's October-November newsletter! Winter hours are now in effect at the Garden... the Visitor Center is open 10:00-4:00 Monday through Friday and the Garden itself is still accessible daily from dawn until dark. Please mind the gate, though! This is Idaho... leaving the gate as you find it (either open or closed )is the rule of the land. Our gate is latched to keep opportunistic ungulates from munching our foliage. But humans have thumbs and the Garden is open to the public so come on in...
Director's Message
I am an absolute weather nerd. Most folks whose lives are enriched by experiencing the outdoors are. As I write this note, I glanced at the forecast and was hit with a mix of delight and consternation that we are expecting snow on Saturday!

The prospect of cold smoke on the valley floor also took the Pioneer Montessori School by surprise as they were diligently planning to hold their fall Harvest Festival outdoors tomorrow. We were happy to provide the perfect alternative venue to their usual all-outdoor one... heated Visitor Center and greenhouse and the open lawn right outside in case some celebrating can happen outdoors!

Renting space at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden for your special event is pretty magical. Weddings, celebrations of life, holiday office

parties, family reunions, b'not / b'nai  mitzvah, QuinceaƱera ... you name it, it's happened at the Garden. Hit us up and we'll hook you up for a special occasion just for you and your tribe.

The Garden is also a great place to host an educational class - check out our own educational offerings and look out for other stuff to do this winter like avalanche safety classes and our popular wreath making classes!

See you in the Garden!

Growing the Fowler Endowment, Establishing SBG's Education Scholarship Fund
Some of you may have received a letter in the mail recently about SBG's effort to Grow the Endowment! SBG was fortunate to benefit from a tragedy that took the life of long-time and passionate Garden supporter Dayle Fowler (pictured at left).

SBG decided to honor her by officially naming the fund, housed and diligently stewarded in an investment account, the Dayle Fowler Legacy Endowment Fund. If you would like to contribute to this fund or a newly established education program scholarship fund, contact our offices at 208-726-9358.
Education Programs!

Fall, winter and spring are great times to take advantage of SBG's wonderful educational programming. Check it out...
