❄️ We’ve arrived once again at the most wonderful time of the year. But let’s be honest: the holidays can also be really stressful, especially if you’re going through a period of grief.
A study from Harvard University found that only 10% of people report feeling no stress during the holidays. Meanwhile, a full 62% say they feel “very” or “somewhat” stressed at this time of year. So even at the best of times, holiday stress seems to be the norm, not the exception. 😱
All of that gets amplified when you’re dealing with any kind of loss. Everybody grieves differently, and for some, a big family gathering might be just what the doctor ordered. But for others, the pressure to attend so many events, talk to so many people, and do so much prep work (cooking, cleaning, decorating… you name it) can be overwhelming.
This time of year, there’s a lot of pressure to go with the flow — to just act as happy as possible regardless of how you’re actually feeling. So we’re here to remind you: it’s okay not to be okay right now.
In this month’s blog post, we share some tips and resources for managing grief over the holidays. Give it a read if you or someone you care about is mourning a loss right now. And as always, remember to take care of yourself. 💟
