If you're not familiar with Facebook I'd like to encourage you to take a look at our business page on Facebook. This month's e-mail shows you just a few of the many slides that cover this particular example. It's how we are sharing information to help grow the hobby by encouraging people to try these things for themselves. Once there, please be sure that you LIKE our PAGE and more importantly, that you are FOLLOWING our page too. It's free. You can comment or ask questions at any time. Please give it a try.

The work featured is actual work that I've completed or have in progress for clients. If you like what you see below— in this very brief sample —then please give Facebook a try. With hundreds of images already posted there's simply no way to share all of that through an e-mail newsletter. If you have a suggestion for other tips and tricks that you would like to see included I'm happy to consider doing a story on those topics too.

Episode One for April 2020 includes 22 illustrated and thoroughly explained slides. If you collect or operate HO Scale Brass diesel locomotive models, this episode should be a big help to you in keeping legacy truck parts in good repair.

REALISTIC WEATHERING
FOR YOUR
BRASS MODEL TRAINS

Having studied railroad equipment since the 1960s, the techniques that we employ to create weathering effects on brass model trains are in a word— sincere . Weathering should never be a few squirts with an air brush. Each part of a model should be treated separately to create a look that matches the prototype.

Brass Model Train Collectors and Operators want their models to be realistically detailed. They want their models display accurate paint and and lettering. But too often, weathering effects commonly used, ruin otherwise great models with unrealistic effects. No doubt about it— poor weathering negatively impacts model resale value.

Our Top-of-the-Mark Weathering Effects are designed with realism in mind. Our specialty is making Brass Model Trains to look exactly like the real thing. This quick gallery of images shows you many cars in proximity to others so weathered. On a model railroad layout, there's nothing more realistic than an entire fleet of equipment with varied weathering effects, used to make the entire model setting look just like a real railroad yard or facility. Our Top-of-the-Mark Weathering Effects replicate that sincere real-world look—including the sides of the model, ends, top, visible interior, and the complete underframe too. Top to bottom, our effects make brass look real.
