Greetings in the Sweet Name of Jesus Christ!

By now, many of you have heard about the horrific assassination of young political activist Charlie Kirk. If you have not, our editorial team at Empowering Everyday Women Online Magazine has provided a full report you can read here.

What has grieved me deeply, beyond the tragedy itself, is the divisive and combative spirit rising up in the discourse surrounding his death. If you are looking for hot takes, gossip, or ideological battles, you won’t find them here.

What you will always find is my conviction that Jesus Christ is the answer, and that love, prayer, and unity, not strife, are the way forward.

This is a moment for the Body of Christ to rise. It is a time to pray, to intercede, and to show the world what it truly means to reflect Christ in dark and painful times.

My heart aches for the state of our nation. Yet I remain steadfast in hope, knowing that God hears the cries of His people.

Together, let us turn our hearts toward God in the prayer below, which I have also shared on my official Facebook page.

Heavenly Father,

We lift up Charlie Kirk’s family, loved ones, friends, and all those left grieving in the wake of this horrific act. Surround them with Your comfort, peace, and strength.

Lord, we intercede for our nation. We ask that You turn our hearts back to love, civility, and respect for every human life. We come against the spirit of division, hatred, and the powers of darkness at work in the world. Instead, we cry out for revival to sweep across this land, that men and women everywhere would turn from evil and return their hearts to You.

Your Word declares in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Today, we stand on that promise.

We ask all these things in the mighty, sovereign, and matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

You Will Stand Up Again

When life knocks you down, God’s resurrection power enables you to stand again. In this devotional, Dianna Hobbs reflects on her father’s passing, her own testimony, and the story of Lazarus to remind us that because Christ lives, we can rise.
