What's the fascination with Halloween?
It is a great mystery to me.
To dress up and pretend I'm someone else
This logic I do not see.
To be a pirate, a princess or a pumpkin man
Is great fun when you are young,
But eventually I can no longer pretend
And those fantasy days are done.
I must accept just who I am
And that's a very hard thing to do.
Halloween allows me to escape for the night
And pretend I am someone new.
A pirate, a princess or a pumpkin
And great fun, I know, this would be,
But tomorrow will dawn and the fantasy is gone
And I'll still be the same old me.
