We are pleased to inform you about a new resource available through the Iowa Credit Union League that may be of great help to members who have experienced significant damage to their homes due to natural disasters. The Iowa Disaster Recovery Housing Assistance Program is now available to support homeowners in our community.
This program is designed to address unmet housing recovery needs that fall outside the coverage provided by insurance or FEMA Individual Assistance. Eligible homeowners can receive up to $50,000 for the repair or rehabilitation of their disaster-impacted homes. This is a crucial resource for those who need extra support in getting their homes back to safe and livable conditions.
The following counties are currently eligible for the program: Adair, Adams, Buena Vista, Cedar, Cherokee, Clarke, Clay, Emmet, Harrison, Jasper, Lyon, Mills, Montgomery, O'Brien, Plymouth, Polk, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Shelby, Sioux, Story, Union, and Woodbury.
If your home has been severely impacted by a natural disaster and you reside in one of the eligible counties, we encourage you to explore this valuable program. It’s a great opportunity to get the assistance needed to recover and rebuild.
