Ribbon Cutting at the Rail Trail Connection From Salem, NH to Methuen, MA
Our Chamber was thrilled to do a ribbon cutting yesterday, October 18th, marking the opening of the Methuen Rail Trail at Hampshire Road! It was wonderful getting together with our members, the Friends of Salem Bike-Ped Corridor and the Salem Area Women's Club GFWC-New Hampshire. We also enjoyed gathering with donors, Salem Town Officials, and 40+ rail trail supporters.
The newest rail trail addition is a short section connecting Hampshire Road with the beautiful 2-mile-long Methuen Rail Trail. Salem has constructed a small parking lot, a bench, and two beautiful entrance gardens. This particular section is a significant step towards the broader goal of the Granite State Rail Trail Association, which seeks to connect the rail trail from Salem to Lebanon, NH, creating a continuous trail that spans 100 miles.
Bike, walk, run, and enjoy!
Check out the Friends of the Salem Bike-Ped Corridor’s website for more information on this beautiful trail.
