Come out to support the West Side Cougar Football Team tonight at 7:00 p.m. as they square off again the Griffith Panthers for HOMECOMING 2024! The parade will take place Saturday, October 5th. Line-up begins at 9am in the WSLA parking lot.

Please join us for the Gary Community School Corporation School Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. at the Gary Area Career Center, 1800 E. 35th Avenue.

The meeting will also be livestreamed on the GCSC Facebook page and broadcast on WGVE 88.7 FM.

Substitute teachers are a valued asset to our team. The Gary Community School Corporation has launched a recruitment campaign to secure a roster of dependable substitute teachers who are passionate about education, love children and want to make a positive impact while spending time in our school buildings.

On Monday, October 6 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., interested applicants are encouraged to come to the GCSC District Office at 900 Gerry St. (Door V) and apply in person! Computers will be available for use along with personnel to assist!

Attendance Matters is a program designed to support students and families with a common goal of consistent attendance through communication and resources. Exciting Opportunity for Students with Disabilities (Ages 14-22)!

If your child has a disability and is between the ages of 14 and 22, they are eligible for free Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)! These services are designed to help students gain essential skills and experiences that will prepare them for life after high school.

Pre-ETS includes:

Job Exploration: Helping students explore potential careers and job interests.

Work-Based Learning: Providing hands-on work experience.

Post-Secondary Counseling: Guiding students on opportunities for education and training after high school.

Workplace Readiness Training: Developing skills needed for workplace success.

Self-Advocacy Instruction: Teaching students how to speak up for themselves and their needs.
