Today, we want to highlight Jocelyn Williams, a Board of Directors member. She is the Center of Business Excellence Coordinator for the Centex African American Chamber of Commerce. Jocelyn also has experience supporting community development from her previous role as Community Organizer.

Juneenth Parade


McCIF participated in the 3rd annual Juneteenth Parade for the 2nd consecutive year. Organized by the Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce hundreds lined the streets of downtown to see the many floats and participants that filled the streets with candy and joy.

Small Business Spotlight

Debra Wilson Music Ministries


This month, we want to highlight Debra Wilson's Music as our Small Business Spotlight! Debra Wilson's Music is a recording studio that offers music lessons, a rehearsal spot, background vocals, and assistance with songwriting, barcodes, and copywriting.


Debra said McCIF helped her business by "giving great business advice and financial help with easy low payments."

Have you ever heard of SCORE? SCORE is a nonprofit small business education organization affiliated with the SBA.

McCIF is proud to announce our affiliation with SCORE Austin Chapter.

The small business services provided by SCORE are huge! They provide mentors in your special area of business, virtual and onsite webinars on specific business education topics and a great deal of additional small business education.

Goldman-Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses 


This event will provide a unique opportunity for small business owners to connect with valuable resources that are specifically designed to assist in establishing and growing their businesses. The day will include updates from the McLennan Community Investment Fund, Start-up Waco, the Small Business Development Center, local Chambers, and other small business advocates. The highlight of the morning will be a presentation from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program.

The People Behind McCIF

Alfred Solano

Board Member

Alfred Solano is the VP of the Waco Family Medicine Foundation. He graduated from Texas State Technical College in 1982 with a degree in AAS Electronics Technology. He has 36 years of experience in the office technology industry, where he provided business equipment and software solutions. He also provides board service on various nonprofit organizations and advisory councils. Alfred’s interest in nonprofit's began when he attended a Hispanic Chamber monthly luncheon that opened his eyes to how great an impact a chamber can have on people.

Ilda Sabido

Assistant Program Manager

 

Ilda Sabido serves as the Assistant Program Manager at McCIF. As a native Wacoan, she attended University High School and McLennan Community College. Ilda has worked in the banking/lending industry for nearly a decade. She enjoys giving back to the Waco community by serving on various local boards.
