August 2021
It’s back to school time and we are ready because we know that together, we can RISE UP and accomplish any challenge this year throws at us! While starting school again is filled with so much excitement, having some uncertainty is understandable. The Five Star Education Foundation has been working hard this summer to secure amazing programs for Five Star students and staff. This work can't happen without YOU. Become a part of this work by making a gift to the Foundation because together, we can RISE UP.

This year we are offering a 3% match to individual donations that state the school they want to support. You can make a donation on our website and list the school in the comment section, or mail your gift to the Foundation.
Fifty-five Percent of the District has a Foundation Resource Closet
We are excited to announce that FutureFoward at Bollman now has a resource closet, which brings our total to 30 locations throughout the district!
Since fall 2020, with the incredible contributions of the Safeway and Albertson’s Foundation, the Adams County Foundation and many others, the Foundation has invested $512,500 into creating and sustaining resources closets for Five Star students. These closets provide food, hygiene materials, school supplies, basic clothing, and essential household items for families in need. This initiative increases school attendance, provides social-emotional support to students and their families, and allows the schools to ensure students are safe, healthy, and fed so they are learning ready.

Career Support This Fall
The Five Star Education Foundation is the nonprofit partner supporting Five Star students in removing barriers to provide pathways towards success in life and in a strong community. We invest $10,000 a year to empower FutureForward counselors to do what they do best and support students in need in achieving their goals.

The Foundation also provided two new mannequins for the FutureForward at Washington Square EMT program. These life-sized medical mannequins will provide EMT students the opportunity to practice their skills in becoming certified EMTs.
Tiny House

With the generous support of a private donor, the Foundation supports the FutureForward at Washington Square Construction program with over $30,000 a year, for the next 5 years to build tiny houses for the homeless. We also partner with local businesses to donate materials and supplies. These students experience real-life skills training while benefiting the metro community.
SWAP Summer Program
The Foundation supported the SWAP Summer Program by covering transportation costs so physical and learning disabled students could go to TACT (Teaching the Autism Community Trades) for skills training and paid work experience at a local food bank, Joyful Journeys in Broomfield.

SWAP provides the opportunity for these students to experience real-life work programs and provide training so they are successful in life.
