Dear Family, Friends, and Ministry Partners,
It all started 43 years ago, July 22,1979. As a sixteen year old boy looking for love, life, and direction, a sweet friend in my high school saw my confusion, and invited me to a local church. I went with her, and I heard the message of the love of Jesus and how Jesus could change my future, give me life, and fill me with joy. I accepted Jesus that night, and the journey of faith and ministry began. The Pastor said to me that night, “Please tell someone tonight what Jesus has done in your heart, and that you have become a Christian”. I went to a 7-Eleven convenience store on my way home from church. I told the woman working at that 7-Eleven that I had just accepted Jesus into my heart. She “high-fived” me and said, “That is amazing!” I almost floated out of that 7-Eleven. It felt so good and so fulfilling to tell someone what Jesus had just given to me. I felt the transformation taking place in my life that night. The next day, the Pastor called me and invited me to go make visits with him that evening. I met him at the church at 6 p.m. We went across the street to a neighborhood and began to knock on doors. We were cursed so violently at the first home that the Pastor said, “We can just go back to the church, Johnny.” That was a really tough experience for a new christian. That was also my introduction to evangelism. All I know is that I just did not want the night to end. I felt the transformation happening in my heart. So, I said to the Pastor, “Let’s go to the next home”. We knocked on the door, and a sweet lady, about 40 years old, opened the door. She greeted us, and then invited us into her home. She gave us a glass of sweet iced tea, and a huge chocolate chip cookie. The Pastor began to share the plan of salvation with her. Then, he looked at me and said, “Johnny, tell her what God did for you last night.” I had never done this before, so I did not know what to say. I gulped the lump in my throat and said, “I’m not getting drunk any more! I got saved last night!” The Pastor said, “Isn't that wonderful to hear from a young teenager?” She agreed. The Pastor then asked her, if she would like to place her faith and eternal destination in Jesus? She said...yes! She had a casual experience with faith in Jesus, but she did not know Jesus in a personal salvation relationship. I’ll never forget her standing up and laughing like Woody Wood Pecker, the cartoon character. She was so happy to be born again, saved, and hopeful for her eternal destination. She died several years ago, and I preached her funeral. I was there the night she became a Christ follower, and I was there to celebrate her home-going at her death. I saw the gospel work twice in the first 24 hours of my salvation experience. First at a 7-11 convenience store, and then at the home of a complete stranger. I WAS HOOKED! I have now been involved in telling others about Jesus almost every week since that first 24 hour process, in doing the work of evangelism. Telling others about my faith in Jesus is more alive in me now at 60 years of age, than it was in those first hours of being a follower of Jesus, 43 years ago. That is what this ministry exists to accomplish. It truly is all about doing the work of the evangelist and to teach, train and mobilize individual believers, and local churches, to do the work of evangelism. We must keep going dear ones, there are so few left to do this great work.
My Karen, And A Meeting With Jimmy Swaggart and Kenneth Copeland
Just recently, Karen had the opportunity to take her mother to a Kenneth Copeland Believers Convention in Woodbridge, Virginia, and then to the Jimmy Swaggart Campmeeting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After hearing the teaching of these legends, these giants of the faith in America, she was overwhelmed with the reality of the passing away of so many great Kingdom generals of the faith in America. We have watched in the last many years the passing away of Billy Graham, Bill Bright, Adrian Rodgers, D. James Kennedy, Charles Stanley, and last week, Pat Robertson. These giants, these legends of Kingdom teaching in America, have left us with a church looking for new leaders to champion the message of the cross. Jimmy Swaggart is 87 years old, and Kenneth Copeland is now 86 years old. These aging staples of faith, these aging voices we have heard for so many years, have us looking for new voices of faith and hope to speak to the church. Karen and I humbly want to be “at least one small part of those voices” for the church. As of the writing of this newsletter, we are working with missionaries and leaders around the world to plan and perform community crusades, revivals and regional outreaches. Just a few months ago, I turned 60 years old. It is my diamond year. Karen and I are working, praying and planning feverishly to position ourselves to do this work of evangelism. Karen said after hearing these great men of God, that she is more convinced than ever that we must do this great work of evangelism...now!
Outreach Magazine and Outreach.com
As of this writing, Outreach Magazine is producing the ad for our H.O.P.E. Outreach teaching. It will be available in the July/August issue of Outreach the magazine, and again, in the September/October issue. It will also be placed online for the next 6 months. This will place our ministry before religious leaders and organizations around the world. It will also be in every major religious denomination around the globe. Pray with us for this advertisement of H.O.P.E. Outreach in the Outreach Magazine to spark an evangelism fervor around the world. Remember, H.O.P.E. stands for “Hour Of Power Evangelism.” It is a 5 part video teaching to teach churches and individuals around the world how to share their faith, how to use their personal testimony of faith in Jesus, how to use the Roman Road scriptures to salvation and faith in Jesus, and how to lead people across the line of faith in becoming a Christian and a follower of Jesus. We must believe for a new evangelism movement friends, we must. No one is
saying this today. We are watching the culture in America shift, the radical news media who are doing everything they can to destroy our children with gender identification, violence, mass shootings and chaos at the border. It is a war on our children. It is also an invasion into our country over the border issue in Texas, Arizona, and in California. Think about it. Over 7 million illegal immigrants have just walked into our country. It is a massive invasion into America that we have never experienced in our 247 year history as a nation. How could our government allow this to happen? We would never allow an army to do this, yet silently, the invasion is taking place even as you read this letter. It is a true “INVASION”, dear friends! What are we going to do? The demons are so loud right now as they proudly promote LGBTQ lifestyles, pornography, sexual perversions, and just plain demonic, evil actions all across the nation. The people in this lifestyle do not know what they are doing. However, the demons know exactly what they are saying. Pray for these who are so deceived. Dear friends, we must GET LOUD in our faith right now. This is not about “HATE,” this is about “TRUTH.” Truth is not a concept, truth is a person, and His name is...Jesus! We must change the conversation and share this message of life and love and hope that is ONLY found in Jesus. If you can sit by and do nothing with all that we see happening around the world, you have no reason to complain. Join us, and let us do this, dear friends. Let us do something now! Will you help us?
What Can You Do?
Scan our QR code below in this newsletter and purchase this H.O.P.E. Outreach for yourself. Then, give it to your Pastor, and say, “Could we activate this in our church, and in our community?” Tell your Pastor that we will be happy to come and teach and train this process in any church. We must activate the body of Christ as an army of Christian soldiers who will share the love, and the life, and the hope that we have in Jesus. It is almost too late. Now is the time to share this message of hope with the masses if we are ever again to turn this nation back to a faith in Jesus. As the song said so many years ago, “Stand up, stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the cross, lift high the royal banner, it must not suffer loss. From victory on to victory, we march against the foe, stand up, stand up ye Christians, it’s onward as we go.” Pray for Karen and for me. Pray for CHRISTIANS to arise and share this message of faith in Jesus. Pray for Outreach Magazine and our H.O.P.E. Outreach advertisements to trigger something beautiful around the world. Send your best offering to help us. We are still working to get to that $60,000 goal to push these initiatives across the line of victory. It all started on July 22, 1979. The message of life, and love and joy found in Jesus changed my whole world. Let us keep telling the story of life, and hope in Jesus. The story of Jesus changed my life as a wandering 16 year old boy. It will change the world if we will only share this message of life. I am ready, are you?
We love you, and we need your great help and prayers,
Evangelists Johnny and Karen Jernigan
