How you've helped your neighbors in need on their road to self-sufficiency.
It Takes a Village – and Sometimes a Neighbor

Kate* has been coming to Beverly Bootstraps for a year now. She is aware of how much of a helping hand we can be to someone struggling. When her friend Joy* finally mentioned how difficult paying for groceries and diapers had become, Kate insisted that she accompany her during a recent Food Pantry visit.

Joy was quickly registered and introduced to the staff. Kate was more than happy to take over the Pantry tour and show her friend how everything worked. Having seen our pre-COVID shopping model, Kate was able to explain how things had changed and how the new food model would ensure her safety yet still give her choices.

It was wonderful to see Joy’s nervousness fade as she realized how at home Kate and all our clients feel at Beverly Bootstraps. By the end of their visit, Joy left feeling welcomed into our little community and reassured that her food struggles were quickly going to be met.

We are proud of the community feel we have at Beverly Bootstraps. Thanks to our generous donors, we have kept our doors open through the pandemic and offer a beacon of hope to those struggling with food insecurity.
