Items Needed for Homeless Veterans
Greetings! we are asking you to consider assisting Chapter 10 with providing needed items for homeless veterans in the Washington DC metro area. For years, DAV Chapter 10 has supported the Washington DC VA Medical Center (VAMC) homeless veterans stand down, Winterhaven. We have provided volunteers, sponsored meals, donated needed items and provided donations. Last year, due to the pandemic, the January Winterhaven homeless veteran stand down was cancelled.

This year the Washington DC VAMC is tentatively planning to host a homeless veterans stand down on November 13. Regardless of whether the event is held or not, they are in dire need of specific items for the homeless veteran community they serve in Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland.

In coordination with the Washington DC VAMC homeless veteran program, Commander Wendel has created a list of requested and needed items via Amazon. To see the list and purchase items, Click Here!

Be sure to have it delivered to Tom Wendel's gift registry address. We are asking that all items be purchased by November 1st to ensure that they are received in time for Chapter 10 to deliver them directly to the Washington DC VAMC.
Commander Tom Wendel

We hope you will consider joining Chapter 10 in providing items needed for the Washington DC VAMC homeless veterans program.

If there are items left on November 1, 2021, Chapter 10 will try to purchase the remaining items. If the items are all selected, they have also indicated that nonperishable individually wrapped food items such as crackers, tuna, peanut butter, and granola bars, are needed as well. Again just ensure that the items are shipped to my gift registry address.

The Washington DC VAMC homeless veterans program, Chapter 10 and those veterans in need, thank you!
