Ithaca Promise Campaign Launches Today

The Ithaca Promise is a message and promise of commitment among the following community partners: The City of Ithaca, The Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, Local First Ithaca, and the Downtown Ithaca Alliance.

The Ithaca Promise is more than just following guidance to safely reopen, but a dedicated commitment to the process. Businesses work to ensure they are doing everything they can to conduct business with health and safety of their customers as their primary concern. Customers and the community at large must also follow guidance.
W ear a Mask, Tompkins County!

Numerous partners collaborated with Flair Communications to create engaging public service announcement style videos to encourage widespread adoption of and adherence to face-covering culture in Tompkins County. The videos will be be shared across numerous social media platforms, websites, and email marketing campaigns by the partners - and hopefully, the community.

The Tompkins Chamber, Visit Ithaca, Downtown Ithaca Alliance, and Tompkins County Area Development were funding partners for the project, who also had the support and collaboration from the City of Ithaca and Tompkins County Public Health.

Please share the video within your personal or corporate social media networks!

The City acknowledges the public has an interest in providing feedback on funding to the Police Department, Youth Services and other community programs. The City has prepared a document to provide basics on revenues, expenses, and the expected budget shortfalls, and how various departments are funded.
The Mayor develops the City Budget that will be presented at the October 2020 Common Council meeting. He is seeking input from the community not only on how to allocate resources, but to plan for the anticipated shortfall.
Please review the Budget Basics document for background before you complete the 2021 Budget Survey.
