Dear Coalition for a DSP Living Wage:
It’s FY2020 budget GO time! We need your help telling legislators that $54 million is needed in FY2020 to secure a competitive wage for direct support professionals that’s at least 25% above minimum wage and reflects the skill and responsibility required for the complex work.

The Senate and Assembly Budget Committees are holding public hearings this week and next and we’re asking all who can to sign up and testify! Details on the hearings and how to sign up to make your voice heard can be found here:

If you’re unable to testify in person , please consider submitting written comments explaining to legislators why it’s important to YOU that state lawmakers invest $54million in FY2020 to raise DSP wages. Please submit your comments to and forward a copy to Libby Vinson ( ). Libby is helping coordinate the advocacy efforts for the Coalition.

Attached is a link to the Coalition’s FY2020 Budget Talking Points for your use and information. Please use this messaging in your outreach to legislators, as it’s critical we are all united in our ASK for $54million in FY2020!

Thank you in advance for your advocacy!
