ITS NOT ABOUT YOU!!!
This has been a sad and trying week-my dear mother-in-law-Ms. Carol Blalock passed away in her BLESSED sleep last Monday, March 14.
She will be sorely missed as my beloved wife wanders aimlessly around the house trying to figure out what to do with her “spare time now”!!!???
She lived 89 years and is the third person we have suffered the deaths of in this one household-there ain't nothing like losing a loved one that used to fill the empty spaces of one's heart and home.
I also learned the very next day of the passing of one of my heroes-MS. LENORA WISE-the ELITE and ONE ONLY Children Pastor-my MENTOR.

ITS NOT about YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I mused on this TRUTH in the wee hours of the morning last night, Holy Spirit recalled to my memory the writings of Pastor Rick Warren, the author of the best selling book THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE.
Not having a hard copy of this famous book, I turned to Google and found these opening words:
“ITS NOT ABOUT YOU! The purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness. Its far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you MUST BEGIN WITH GOD (my italics).
YOU WERE BORN BY HIS PURPOSE AND FOR HIS PURPOSE (again my italics).”
Think about this in human understanding.
WE all have THINGS to amuse us-pets, cars, vacation homes, boats, CHICKENS, musical instruments, stereo systems, TVS, etc, etc, etc.
We got them because they give US pleasure, they were designed and created for such PURPOSE by each designer whether human or divine.
We value each in proportion to our pleasure derived from each and each possession is uniquely designed to bring this desired outcome.
Pets can warm our laps and lick our faces, cars can take us to far away destinations in style and comfort, vacation homes are something to look forward to, chickens lay eggs.
BUT each “thing” has its unique design and purpose.
GOD designed EACH of US uniquely to give Him pleasure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE-you and me-are NOT the center of the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 Corinthians 12:14-16 (KJV)
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
Not everybody can sing or preach or catch a football or hit a hundred MPH fastball!
Not everybody can sooth a fevered baby brow or comfort the sick and dying.
I can just see God up in Heaven enjoying the faults and flailing efforts of our attempts to be holy and righteous-SMILE!!!
We think we are being sly and are getting away with our sins but God just smiles and smiles-HE SEES IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But just when we think we are losers and failures, then BAM we do something right and again I can see God exclaiming-
“THAT'S MY BOY/THAT'S MY GIRL!!!”
I close with this wonderful thought as a BONUS for those who read this far!
“IF YOU CANNOT SAY ANYTHING NICE ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE.................
SAY NOTHING AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
