Brief on Behalf of Unemployed Workers is Filed by DannLaw and Advocate Attorneys.

Friends:

It's our turn today. We filed our brief in opposition to Governor DeWine's appeal of the 10th District Court of Appeals.

You can read a copy of our brief here.

Our cause has been bolstered by the filing of a Amicus (Friend of the Court) Brief by the Ohio Legal Aid Societies, Policy Matters Ohio and The Ohio Employment Lawyers Association. They make excellent arguments about the impact of the reduction of benefits on those of you were on unemployment last summer.

You can read their brief here

The Governor has 20 days to file a reply brief and then the matter will be ripe to be set for oral argument.

Many hours of research and writing went into our brief and credit goes to Andy Engel of Advocate Attorneys and Emily White and Brian Flick from DannLaw.
