What Are Your Resolutions for 2018?

Every January we ask ourselves this not so simple question, and this year, like most of you, I have a long list! In my article below I offer some suggestions for 2018 resolutions for your home!
Now is also a great time to evaluate whether a move is on your mind for 2018.  Our spring market is already bounding ahead -- we have only 75 homes on the market in QVSD - our norm for this time of year is 198.  New homes on the market are selling very quickly.  If your home has been on the market, the next couple of weeks is the best time to evaluate whether you need to make any changes to condition (such as painting) to get it sold, or whether a price adjustment is appropriate.  If you are thinking of a move, now is the very best time to begin the listing process!
As we begin this new year, I also want to thank all of you for your continued support of my business.  I think you all know how much I love what I do!  I am thrilled to have just wrapped up my best year ever, with over $30million in homes sold, ranking me 1st among Sewickley agents, and 8th in our entire MLS, and want to make 2018 an even better year!  My business is primarily a referral-based business, born from your referrals of family, neighbors, colleagues and friends, so  THANK YOU for your past support and THANK YOU in advance for your 2018 referrals!
Happy 2018!

Do you have any ideas for New Years resolutions for 2018?
I've always wondered why we wait until January rolls around each year to adopt new and improved habits.  January seems to breathe new life into all of us, and a renewed excitement about positive changes that we might effect in the New Year.  Given this, I would suggest for your consideration a few home-related resolutions....   Click HERE to read more!

Un-decking the halls

If our home is on the market, how long is it ok to keep holiday decorations up?
In this incredibly dark time of the year, festive holiday décor certainly helps to brighten everyone's day, so if your home is on the market, it is certainly a good idea to tastefully decorate for the holidays.  Even if your home is vacant, a seasonal wreath on the front door is a nice touch to welcome guests.  We have been unusually busy this December, so presentation remains important, even when its cold and snowy outside....   Click HERE to Read More!
WHEN CAN WE MOVE IN?

When we buy a new home, when can we expect to be able to move in?
The answer to your question varies from state to state.  In Pennsylvania, possession transfers immediately at closing!  How does this impact the buyers and sellers?...   Click HERE to Read More...
THE HOME INSPECTION DILEMA

We are buying a new home.  Can we skip the home inspection and save a few bucks?
I do not recommend that you skip a home inspection, even with a new home.  Please keep in mind if buying a new home that no matter how nice and reassuring the builder or his realtor representative are, they do not represent you!  I have on many occasions witnessed a builder trying to gloss over obvious deficiencies with new homes.  You need a home inspector...
