If you are like us, you love the smell of a fresh cut pine tree. When our kids were younger we always went out and cut down a tree at Christmas. It was a process..... we would look for what felt like hours, to usually end up with a tree near the beginning of the lot. Ron would cut it down and then we would haul it back to the car. It was a production with three little girls in tow.....and then we would have to get the tree put up :). But in the end it looked beautiful and it smelled amazing. Well, our kids are older and getting a real tree every year just isn't as feasible as it once was; however, we have found new ways to get that pine tree smell without all the work.
Our collection of Bedrock Candles, is the closest thing we have found to smell like that fresh cut Fraser Fir tree. It has a straight forward pine scent that makes you feel like there is a real tree in the room. Whether you are looking to enhance the amazing aroma from your real tree or maybe you are like us and want the smell without all the work, these candles are made for you. We have them available in a variety of sizes and containers. Each candle it topped with pine needles to remind you that this is the best pine scent out there!

Getting the house ready for the holidays
We know that Thanksgiving is coming and with all the joy that there is with the holiday, it also means that many people will be pulling out their Christmas decorations for the first time in months. If in the process of decorating you realize that your garland or wreath is not what you were expecting, we have you covered. We have a wide variety of wreaths, garlands, and florals available. You can decide how big or small you want and if there should be lights or no lights.
This is also the time when people start pulling out their Christmas lights and realize they don't work or they aren't looking as great as they once did. Don't worry, we have you covered whether you prefer warm white or multi colored lights.
One of our favorite lights to decorate with are our firecracker lights. They come in three lengths. 37 feet with 1500 LED lights. This size is ideal for a 7.5' tree, unfortunately we only have multi color left in this length. The9.8ft length with 480 LED lights perfect for your fireplace mantel and or a garland. Finally, the 7.8ft length with 280 LED lights for a small tree or wreath. They all come with 8 Functions (e.g. waves, chasing/flashing, slow fade, twinkle, etc.). Each strand has a 16ft lead cord to make it easier to plug in various locations around your home. These lights can be used indoor and outdoor for all your decorating needs! Also, these lights are manufactured by the company who light up Disney World and Dollywood so they have to know what they are doing with lighting!

We still have a couple of fall Byers Choice Carolers. We have the Harvest Man and Woman. The Harvest Man features a checked shirt with pants. He is wearing a straw hat and carrying a basket of produce. The Harvest Woman is wearing a green skirt, white shirt, checked apron, and a shawl across her shoulders. She too is wearing a straw hat and carrying flowers and a basket.
We also have the Fall man who has been out in his garden working. Finally, we have the Native American Boy, who is wearing a traditional outfit and carrying a basket of corn, and Native American Girl, who is wearing a traditional clothing and carrying a pumpkin. These pieces make for a delightful fall scene or a beautiful addition to your Thanksgiving table!

As you are getting ready to travel with kids this holiday season? If you are we would like to suggest getting one of our Melissa and Doug activity books. We have a variety of puffy reusable sticker books, which allow kids to create different scenes with their stickers and move them over and over again. These sticker books are a favorite amongst our grandchildren. Each book style has been personally tested and approved by them!

We still have some lanterns available. This newsletter, we wanted to mention a couple styles that we don't feel like get enough attention. First we have our Gnome Lantern. This lantern features three gnomes sitting on each others shoulders trying to put the star on top of their tree. Their lantern has a birched tree look complete with little mushroom details.
Another style that we felt has been overlooked this year is our red lantern with red truck. This lantern features a classic red truck near pine trees. There are also two cardinals in the lantern. The lantern itself is red with elegant detailing. We also have a variety of other lanterns with snowmen, Santa, nativity scenes, and nature scenes (including one with a black bear).

One our our favorite books from the past few years is Life in the Neck. This books tells the story of Delaney, Rocket, and Cardinal Red. The book tells about each of these characters meeting each other and building bonds of friendship, cooperation, and the busy world around them. However, when danger comes to the Neck, we see how our perceptions about someone can be wrong and that we can find help from the unexpected. This is a beautiful children's book with an important message for all children.
Continuing the series we have two additional books that also take place "in the neck." First, there is Squirrel Trouble, which features Eli, a young boy, who is building a fort with his dad. It's not long before mischievous squirrels move in a take over. As the the nuts, acorns, and pinecones pile up, Eli realizes he's going to have to get creative to get them out.
Finally, we have Life in the Neck: Advent of Christmas. This book walks children through the meaning advent. Two children celebrate the coming of Christmas with an advent wreath lanterns for candles, Bible verses, and a manger explaining the significance of each candle as they move through the season.
