A Note from the Director

Dear Families,

We were happy to get back to instruction after the snow days and are hopeful we can move forward uninterrupted with our many planned events. Please make note of updates to the Ivymount School calendar: the May Professional Day has been canceled and the last day of school changed to June 12 due to the snow days. See below for a link to the updated calendar.

Our annual IvyMoves Month is off to a quick start. Let's all find ways to fit movement into our daily lives. To that end, RSVP below for our IvyMoves community event here at Ivymount on Saturday, January 25.

We hope you'll attend the online PTA meeting tomorrow to help plan the school-wide St. Patrick's Dance. And for those with teens and young adults, learn about Project SEARCH through our onsite and virtual information session this Wednesday. See links to both by scrolling down in this email.

School Calendar Updated Due to Snow Days

The Ivymount School calendar has been updated to make up for the snow days this past week. The previously scheduled May 15 professional day is now canceled. The last day of school is now moved to June 12.

Please note: this calendar is subject to change in the event that we have further weather-related closures.

IvyMoves is On its Way!

The IvyMoves step and daily activity challenges are underway. Look how far students have already "moved like Lightning!" in the step challenge. A copy of the activity calendar was sent home in backpacks. Cross them off and bring in the completed calendar for a prize in February!

RSVP now for the community movement event featuring ZamDance on Saturday, January 25 at 11 am.

Registration Open for Outreach Spring Programs

Ivymount Outreach Programs is now registering participants for Spring Educational Programs. Facilitated by Ivymount experts, they run from February to May, 2025. The student groups focus on executive function, social skills and conversation:

Project SEARCH provides employment readiness training for young adults aged 18 to 30 through internships and classroom instruction. For high school and post high school students and their families: Attend one of our upcoming information sessions to learn whether Project SEARCH is a good fit.

Apply before March 28 to be considered for the group that will start in September 2025.

Winter Clothing Drive Now Through February

The recent wintry weather reminds us that there are families in need of warmth. If you have new or gently used coats, blankets, and winter clothing for men, women, and children, donate them to the Aspire Post High School winter clothing drive using the collection box located in the front entrance. Please label them "Winter Clothing Drive".

Help Plan the St. Patrick's Day Dance

Virtual Meeting Jan 13

The St. Patrick's Day School Dance on March 8 will be a celebration for all programs and ages. The plan is ready but needs a few hands to get the arrangements underway. Please attend the virtual planning committee meeting on January 13 at 7pm. We will ask for night of volunteers later in our planning.
