What is Face Off? 
Face Off is a competition/elimination series exploring the world of special-effects make-up artists and the unlimited imagination that allows them to create amazing works of living art. The contestants are tasked with elaborate feature challenges including executing full body paint make up on models and creating their own horror villain. Challenges incorporate effects make-up, and include a wide range of skill sets including prosthetics, 3-D design, sculpting, eye enhancers, casting and molding. Each episode involves incredible reveals of the contestants' finished work, and the drama of one contestant being sent home by the panel of expert and celebrity judges. The winner will receive $100,000, a 2013 Fiat 500, and will be given the opportunity to be a guest lecturer at the Make Up For Ever Academies in New York and Paris
Actress and host McKenzie Westmore will be returning , along with judges Ve Neill (The Hunger Games, The Amazing Spider Man, Pirates of the Caribbean), Glenn Hetrick (CSI: New York, Heroes, The Hunger Games), and Neville Page (Prometheus, Avatar). They will be joined by Michael Westmore, who will serve as the official contestant mentor for the season. Westmore is well-known worldwide as a make-up artist, and part of a dynasty that goes all the way back to the golden age of Hollywood. He has earned a record 42 Emmy nominations, garnering 9 wins. He has been nominated for an Oscar 4 times, winning in 1986 for his work on Mask, starring Cher and Eric Stoltz. In addition to supervising 18 years of Star Trek (which alone makes him a worthwhile name for most of us Geek Smashites), he is also the father of host McKenzie Westmore. Perspective and expertise will be on-hand from guest judges as well, with Bryan Singer, John Landau, Michael Nankin, Gale Anne Hurd, and John Rhys-Davies, joining the group on occasion.
