September 24-25, 2019 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds
Thank you for volunteering at JA JobSpark 2018!

JA EduSpark Teacher Externship
On June 26 & 27, Junior Achievement held our very first JA EduSpark Teacher Externship. 32 educators had the opportunity to learn about trends and skills needed for future career opportunities for their students through direct exposure to in-demand careers. Our educators were able to tour the facilities, interact with industry professionals, and hear from panels of experts at IKORCC, Republic Airways, & Salesforce.

Is your company or organization interested in hosting a JA Eduspark Industry Tour or Teacher Externship? Contact Cindyk@jaindy.org for more information!
Cluster Planning
The Government, Law and Public Services cluster is working on finalizing their hands-on experiences for  #jajobsparkindy . Thanks to all of the cluster members who participated in last month's meeting and to our Co-Chairs from  Indiana Department of Workforce Development Indiana Commission for Higher Education  and  EmployIndy .
The Big Picture
Junior Achievement of Central Indiana is determined to foster financial literacy in all of our area youth. JA JobSpark, is one of many initiatives in a continuum of programs offered in Pre-K through 12th grade.

Junior Achievement educates young people in the areas of   career exploration work readiness entrepreneurship financial literacy   and  philanthropy  and inspires them to explore and create opportunities, make good decisions, and believe in their potential. There are many unique programs available, including two capstone experiences: JA BizTown for 5th graders and JA JobSpark for 8th graders.

Volunteers from area businesses deliver prepared curriculum to students in their classrooms during a JA Day or a weekly JA Program. The curriculum meets educational standards and is engaging at an age-appropriate level. Many of our volunteers remember when a JA volunteer came to their classroom, inspiring them to give back as a JA volunteer! Interested in volunteering for a JA Day? Contact Sally Mann , Program Manager, to sign up today!
