Hi ! April is JABC Volunteer Appreciation Month and this week (April 19-25) is National Volunteer Week across Canada. While our work world is adapting to changes, we here at JABC want to take this opportunity to celebrate our amazing volunteers and also share what we've been up to these past few months - thanks to your support.
Thank you JA British Columbia Volunteers!
“The most important thing I learned from
my volunteers was knowing what to put into
savings and how important it is to have something
to fall back on.They were great teachers.
Thank you for the opportunity.”
- Mercea, gr.10 student

We are so grateful for our almost 700 JABC volunteers who have delivered over 1,200 programs all across our province this school year.

Thanks to your generous gift of time, BC students are more optimistic about their future and have started developing the skills needed for long-term success. You are awesome!

From a first time volunteer to a 22-year volunteer (wow!), we're excited to be profiling a few of these remarkable individuals across our social media channels this JABC Volunteer Appreciation Month.

Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and  Instagram. We are inspired by your quotes!

Stay Connected

Although all our in-classroom deliveries are on hold, we want to stay in touch with you! We're planning to offer virtual volunteer led programs to students soon, so if you are interested in participating,  please email us !

And, as always, we love your feedback. Please fill out our  Returning Volunteer Survey or  New Volunteer Survey .
Businesses around the world have had to alter the way they work, including us here at JABC. But one thing that remains constant for us is the amazing and continued support of our partners, in particular, our volunteers.

I would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers who helped us reach our goals this past school year, in a shortened time. We absolutely couldn't have done this without you. Thank you!

We will continue to focus on our purpose to inspire, prepare and empower BC youth for lifelong success. This is an exciting opportunity to be creative, pivot and experiment with our programs, and we invite all of our partners to join us on this new adventure. I'm looking forward to this innovative time at JABC and appreciate your support through all of this.

12th Annual EFS@TRU
JABC hosted Economics for Success at Thompson Rivers University (EFS@TRU) in Kamloops on February 20th. This marks the largest single JABC student event on record.

JABC TechWorks expands (again!)
Hundreds of BC students attended JABC TechWorks across three regions this past school year: Victoria, Vancouver and Kelowna. A total of 137 speakers and 39 sponsors and partners helped us deliver this exciting experience that introduces students to tech-related careers.

Battle of the Ads 2020
In this pilot project, Lower Mainland J A Company Program students produced 30-second product commercials for a showcase and competition in early March. Students, judges and guests gathered at Deloitte Vancouver for the video viewing party and awards!

With support from TELUS Community Board - Vancouver and G&F Financial Group, Grade 10 and 11 students at Richmond’s RA McMath Secondary were the first students in Metro Vancouver to experience JA’s Personal Finance program. Thanks to G&F Financial Group for documenting this program delivery.
