Recent JAG graduates gathered at the UNLV Science & Engineering Building on May 28 for a very special occasion. Having received initial job offers, students were gathered for a Special Signing Day Ceremony where Chris Reilly of Tesla welcomed each new team member with a certificate and Tesla hat. Over the summer, students will be moving to the Reno/Sparks area to work and enroll in the Manufacturing Development Program (MDP) at Truckee Meadows Community College.

Specialists are the "secret sauce" to the success of JAG students, and one of our longest serving team members from West Wendover Nevada was recently honored. Lysette Perez, who runs the JAG program at WWHS was named one of Sierra Nevada's Top 20 Women of Power! The recognition is well-deserved as Lysette, a native of West Wendover, not only returned home, but is helping make her community better every day by helping her students succeed!

Reclaiming their own future is one of the most important things that students of promise did at the annual JAG Reclaim Your Future Breakfast at the Texas Station. Almost 500 students from Clark County gathered to celebrate their upcoming graduation and to celebrate their futures. NSHE schools like Nevada State College made the occasion more special as they awarded multiple scholarships to needy and deserving JAG students! Thanks to President Bart Patterson of NSC and other college leaders for making the day extra special for all JAG graduates!

State Farm Agents from across the country sent JAG students words of encouragement and support! Our work with youth tells us that students must feel like people care for them. Words of encouragement work like magic in young lives as they energize young people to continue in their quest to overcome barriers,turn those barriers into assets and, in turn, pay it forward to others!
