| | An Armenian Evangelical Fellowship Is Reborn | | |
On a Cold Weekend in February, Renee and I traveled to the Washington DC metro area. For months, Rev. Heather Ohaneson and I had been establishing contacts and building relationships there. Many years ago there was a vibrant group meeting regularly, uniting Armenian Evangelicals from DC, Virginia and Maryland. Since some people from that group are still around and new people have moved down that way, it made sense to think this fellowship could be established again.
Rev. Heather’s proximity to the area made it possible for her to visit in person numerous times over the past six month. I had done my part from 3,000 miles away, by telephone and email. So, by the time we arrived at Ronald Reagan Airport, read more

Armenian Martyrs' Congregational Church
Havertown, PA
One of the generous women at Armenian Martyrs' Congregational Church (Havertown, PA) had it in her heart to cook for the coffee hour on Sunday, February 15, dedicating the lunch to the newly married couples of 2025. During the worship service, her grandson participated by serving as the scripture reader. Three couples were blessed by the wisdom shared by three of our church matriarchs who had long, happy marriages, including these loving words: "God created you in love, and you now share that love with one another." It was a special day for all.
| | Also in February, a group of twelve AMCCers went to a local church to hear an Allen organ as part of our process of replacing one of our key worship instruments. Through God's gracious provision, we look forward to hearing the fullness of sound enabled through digital organ technology in our sanctuary by September! | | |
Calvary Armenian Congregational Church
San Francisco, CA
2026 at CACC has been off to a great start!
Connections Women’s Ministry group gathered on January 10th for fellowship, and mante making. They enjoyed eating the mante (with broth) they made after hearing a devotional on Esther led by Susan Kazarian. Esther’s active faith in the face of uncertainty teaches us to draw close to God in all things and to take action to fulfill His will.

Book Giving Day at Hayassa Armenian Saturday School
“Book Giving Day” turned into a truly festive celebration at “Hayassa” Armenian Saturday School, bringing together students, parents, and guests around the love of books and reading. It is well known that in Armenia, Book Giving Day is celebrated every year on February 19, which is the birthday of the great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan.
The special guest of the day was writer Vahe Ghukasyan, author of The World of the Carpet, who introduced his book to the children and shared the fascinating story behind its creation.
The event took place in a warm and creative atmosphere. The children not only listened to the author’s presentation but also actively participated in discussions, a Q&A session, and interactive games. This meeting became a wonderful opportunity for the school’s students to become more closely acquainted with Armenian literature, as well as to gain insight into how a book comes to life.

Remembering the faith and courage of Vardanank at COA Church
An event dedicated to Vardanank (also known as Battle of Avarayr, 26 May 451), was held at COA Church, bringing together the congregation to honor the memory and spiritual legacy of this important chapter in Armenian history. The special performance featured meaningful presentations and reflections on faith, courage, and devotion.
A special part of the event was the participation of the Sunday School and “Hayassa” Armenian Saturday School children, who contributed through performances, and presentations prepared with great enthusiasm. Their involvement added warmth and inspiration to the gathering, highlighting the importance of passing on faith, heritage, and values to the younger generation.
