Video from Salmagundi Solo Show by Renae Jarrett
2018 EXHIBITION ROUNDUP
I'm drawing breath, if not so many lines on paper, just now, after a packed exhibition schedule in the final three months of 2018.  Poetry and Prose: Flowers in Captivity  -- mostly oils on canvas -- traveled to two libraries in Brooklyn, Kings Highway and Coney Island, during October and much of November-- under the much-appreciated curatorship of Boris Ioselev of the Brooklyn Public Library system.
Eucalyptus, Statice, Roses and Tulips, oil on linen, 20" x 30," 2018
Red Tulips, oil stick, 16" x 20," 2017
From 9 to 16 December 2018 at the Salmagundi Club I had a solo show in the lovely Patrons' Gallery,  Beckoned by Paper: Watercolors, Monotypes and Collages ; here's a link to it.  Youtube link. And additionally six pieces (not all at once; two sold off the wall and were replaced) appeared in Salmagundi's annual ThumbBox Show of very small works.

Coming up next is an invitation for a solo show at the public library in Huntington, Long Island, where I showed  Views of Town and Country  in 2015. This time, it's  Colors of Spring.   I'm taking the opportunity to show some work I don't normally get to show at Salmagundi: fabric collages currently at the framer that only visitors to the Bond Street studio have seen before now; abstract paintings mostly based on energies of the Argentine tango; and a selection of still lifes and landscapes featuring spring flowers and flowering trees.
Desde del Alma/Barreas de Amor (From the Soul/Barriers of Love) , watercolor and
acrylic on paper, 15" x 15," 2008
Blue Destiny, fabric collage, 18" x 18," 2016
The exhibition will be on view 2 March to 12 April, with a reception 2-4:00pm on Saturday, 9 March. The library is at 338 Main Street, Huntington. NY 11743; 631-427-5165.
