Abex begins construction of the world's largest railroad wheel foundry at the Quemahoning Park. Construction was completed in 1980 at a cost of $17.5 million. By 1981, the plant was producing 400,000 wheels annually. In 2000, NAH, the world's largest producer of powdered metal, took over the site.
Commonwealth Tax Credits

On Thursday, July 18th, Lindsey Bennett of KIZ Resources, LLC, will present Commonwealth Tax Credits. Attendees will learn about Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ), Research and Development (R&D), Neighborhood Assistance-Enterprise Zone (NAP-EZ), PA Historic Preservation Credits (HPTC), Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC) and Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC). Certified Public Accountants that attend this seminar can also receive CPE Credits.

This Lunch & Learn will be held at JARI Center (160 Jari Drive, Johnstown, PA) from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM. The cost to register is $5 per person and lunch will be provided. Click here for registration details and form. Please register by July 17th. No shows on the day of the event will be billed.
