JARI and its Affiliates - Highlights of 45 Years: The 90s
Showcase for Commerce begins with a small networking event held at the Johnstown Holiday Inn.
JARI opens its first business development center at the Greater Johnstown Vocational Technical School.

Linda Thomson, then president of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association, presents JARI President John Skiavo with the "Developer of the Year" Award. Skiavo earned the honor for his contributions to the economic well-being of Cambria and Somerset Counties and his accomplishments in economic development.
With funding from the state, JARI crafted an innovative program that allowed area coal companies to purchase publicly traded NOx allowances. JARI managed and coordinate the project, and 850 coal miners kept their jobs.

Checklist for Launching a Successful Legal Business

Patti Hudson CPA, of Wessel & Company and Attorn ey George Gvozdich, Jr., of Gvozdich Law Offices, will present Checklist for Launching a Successful Legal Business Thursday, August 8th. Attendees will learn types and selection of legal structure, registering for fictitious name, obtaining a FEIN and other required tax numbers, and understanding what taxes need to be filed and the frequency.
This Lunch & Learn will be held at JARI Center (160 Jari Drive, Johnstown, PA) from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM. The cost to register is $5 per person and lunch will be provided. Click  here for registration details and form. Please register by August 7th. No shows on the day of the event will be billed.
