We hope you've enjoyed this look back at JARI's history. We would like to complete this feature with a look to the future. JARI continues to carry on the vision of its founders with:

• Workforce initiatives that enable residents to train for the in-demand occupations identified by
• Attraction of foreign investment to the region
• Engagement in new, small and large businesses
• Partnerships and collaboration with leaders at the local, state and federal levels, educational
institutions and businesses

Of course, none of this would be possible without the continuing support of our stakeholders, partners and boards of directors. We thank each of you, and look forward to a strong future for our region!
JARI Hosts International DCED Representatives

On Tuesday, August 8, JARI hosted international members of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) so that they could understand more about our region and the capabilities of our local companies in order to help attract foreign investment directly or through supply chain oppourtunies.

The day included a tour of the Center for Metal Arts and a visit to JWF Industries. It concluded with lunch at Asiago's Tuscan Italian at the top of the Johnstown Inclined Plane. Senator Wayne Langerholc, Mayor Frank Janakovic, and Dave Zucco, Vice President of Kongsberg Protech Systems, spoke to the group during lunch.

JARI would like to thank Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr., Mayor Frank Janakovic, the Cambria County Commissioners, Kongsberg Protech Systems, the Center for Metal Arts and JWF Industries for their support. We appreciate the DCED representatives meeting with us and look forward to future collaboration.

BCL Manufacturing Celebrates 25 Years

Bill Sipko, his family and the BCL team hosted approximately 50 guests at BCL’s 25th anniversary celebration on August 6. BCL, a metal fabrication company, is located in Windber. Mr. Sipko provided an overview of the company’s growth since 1994 to a company known today for its customized approach to meeting customer needs with state of the art equipment and close to 50 highly trained employees. 

Congratulations to BCL on a quarter century of success!
Safety Conference Topics Announced

The 17th Annual Alleghenies Regional Safety Conference is scheduled for October 1, 2019 and will be held at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center in downtown Johnstown.
