WOW – JASAN had our Annual Meeting July 13-14 in conjunction with the JAUSA National Leadership Conference in Fort Worth, TX. Both JASAN members and JA area participants said it was the best one ever.
As you may remember, JASAN provided 75 area staff people with scholarships to attend the conference. With our help, nearly 300 professional staff attended the conference – the most in several years! For meeting highlights, visit the website.
A big “Thank You” to Jean Richcreek, Immediate Past Chair, Ray Darby, Treasurer, and Ken Wasoba, former Funding Chair and Membership Chair who are retiring from the Executive Committee. “Thank you” also to our 2022-23 committee chairs for their expertise and leadership: Linda Schoelkopf – Chair-Elect, Tami Godsey – Membership, Laurie Stearn – Digital Communications, Dennis Gilfoyle – Engagement, Sally Stamper – History, Pamela Casteel – Achieves, Randal Mays – Awards, Brad Kaufmann – Fundraising, Frank Evans – Secretary and Nancy Finke – Treasurer. Our two At-Large members are Kathy Arnes and Lucy O’Donnell. Check out the committee descriptions!
I hope you'll contact me or any member of the Executive Committee if you have questions or comments you feel we need to hear.
Best wishes,
John

JASAN Members Impact the Future of JA

A very big THANK YOU to all the JASAN Members who invested during the 2021-22 Building for the Future Annual Fund Campaign. Nearly $19,000 was raised to help fund JASAN’s 2022-23 operations, communications, website, and awards. We couldn’t do it without you and are truly grateful for your support.
Due to the successful SOS campaign in 2020-21 (with many pledges being completed this year) JASAN sponsored 75 JA professional staff at all levels to attend NLC in Ft. Worth in July! We welcomed all the participants at a Scholarship Breakfast on Thursday morning where we shared the valuable work JASAN is doing, met new people, and networked with old colleagues. It was a fantastic way to recognize our JASAN scholarship winners.
JASAN Member Jim Hemak made an additional donation to help defray the remaining hotel costs for those participants, resulting in even more savings for JA area offices and JA USA. Thank you, Jim!
Everyone was grateful for the support that gave them a chance to attend the conference, and we got several wonderful comments from some of the participants. We look forward to sponsoring 50 staff in 2023 and again in 2024!
Keep an eye out later this year for some communications as we launch the funding campaign for 2022-23. We hope you will continue your support of JASAN. If you haven’t yet donated, please consider a gift – the money is put to VERY good use for the betterment of JASAN and Junior Achievement!
